Orphan of Depression

Depression comes and depression goes,
it’s the turning of the tide,
as he who walks down empty street
has no one to confide.

Hootervilles and dirty rags,
those comforts do await,
as he who walks down empty street
goes on to meet his fate.

The deathly cold and bitter night
are things that he must face,
a sentry for these desperate times,
a child of torn embrace.
